Day 1 Arrival at Tripoli (D)
Upon arrival in Tripoli, you will be met by your private tour guide. Depending on your arrival time you will begin you tour of the ancient city of Tripoli. You will have a visit of the old medina (walled city), mosques, Arch Aureleus, and the souks (markets).
Day 2 Tripoli – Sabratha (B, D)
After breakfast you will set out to the ancient Roman site of Sabratha. You will enjoy the fabulous theater, museum, and Roman city. You will return back to Tripoli in the afternoon.
Day 3 Tripoli – Leptis Magna (B, D)
After breakfast you will leave to one of the Jewels of Libya, Leptis Magna. Perhaps the best Roman ruins in Africa, Leptis Magna is well worth your time. You will get to experience this amazing ancient city, the museum, and the theater. In the afternoon you will a stop to see the amphitheater before returning to Tripoli for the evening.
Day 4 Tripoli -Benghazi (B, D)
In the morning you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Benghazi. You will be met at the airport, explore some of the more recent historical sites of Libya (including an “art display” created from weapons and tanks from the recent revolution), and spend the night in a hotel in Benghazi.
Day 5 Benghazi – Cyrene (B, D)
After a traditional bedouin breakfast at camp, you’ll be spirited off to the beautiful coastal city of Sur. After settling into the hotel and having some time to be refreshed, you’ll be taken to the Ras al Jinz Turtle Reserve, the only place in the world where the public can witness the nesting process of the majestic Green Turtle. This once-in-a-lifetime experience can include the possibility of watching firsthand as baby green turtles emerge and make their first journey toward the sea. You’ll spend the night in a hotel in Sur.
Day 6 Apollonia (B, D)
After breakfast in Sur, you’ll depart midmorning for another hidden gem- the Bimmah Sinkhole in the town of Dibab. This gorgeous sinkhole-turned-lake is a beauty to behold, and gives the adventurer an opportunity to dive in. For those who prefer a more laid-back approach, there are steps that lead down to the pristine water’s edge. After thoroughly enjoying this treasure, you will return to Muscat for the eventing.
Day 7 Apollonia – Benghazi – Tripoli (B, D)
After breakfast, you will make your way back to Benghazi where you will catch a return flight to Tripoli. The night will be spent in a hotel in Tripoli.
Day 8 Tripoli (B, D)
Today will be a free day in Tripoli. If you have not already visited it, you may have a tour of the National Museum as well as see other various sites around the city.
Day 9 Tripoli– Gharyan – Tripoli (B, D)
After breakfast, you will make your way south of Tripoli to Gharyan. You will spend the day exploring the area and seeing the impressive architecture of the troglodyte houses. The night will be spent back in Tripoli.
Day 10 Tripoli – Departure (B)
After breakfast, you will be taken to the airport for your departure
